BONAPARTE AND DANNY

 

This is a picture of Bonaparte Lane taken around AD1900.  Bonaparte was borne in a small New England town. He never traveled further than fifty miles from his home.  He married and raised three children as a small town barber.  He died peacefully in his old age.  He was a good Christian man.  During his lifetime Bonaparte hired a young barber named Harry to work in his shop on Main Street.  Eventually, Harry married Bonaparte’s youngest daughter, Lena.  One of Harry and Lena’s middle sons was named Roland.  Roland married Helen and in the 1950’s they moved their family to California.  Roland was the father of Dennis and Dennis became the father of Joshua and Joshua became the father of Daniel (Danny)     


This is a picture of one of Bonaparte’s great, great, great, grandsons, Danny, aken around AD2008.  One hundred years and three thousand miles separate the two.  Danny was born in Southern California and has his whole Christian life ahead of him.

 

 

A lot has changed since Bonaparte had his photograph taken way back there in New England in 1900.  When that photograph was taken there were no electric lights.  There were no automobiles.  There were no airplanes, computers, telephones, or motion pictures.  All of these things have come about in the hundred years that separate Bonaparte from Danny.  However, there is one thing that has remained the same during that long century. 

Jesus Christ is still the same… the same yesterday, today… and, tomorrow.
